Elder Anthony G. Upton Sr.
Elder Anthony G. Upton Sr. is a dedicated spiritual leader and community advocate whose life is anchored in the conviction of Joshua 24:15: "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Elder Upton was baptized at age 8, received the Holy Ghost at the age of 14, and entered the ministry at age 18 in 2008. He has committed nearly two decades to the service of the Lord’s Church, including his elevation into the office of Elder in 2017. Alongside his wife for life, Evangelist Shannae Upton, he is the co-founder of Upon This Rock Ministries, where they focus on Christian discipleship and biblical leadership.
In addition to his role as a pastor at Restoration for Life Covenant Ministry in Allentown, PA, Elder Upton is a skilled educational architect, creating original curricula for Bible studies, Vacation Bible schools, and youth programs to ground the next generation in sound doctrine. His commitment to discipleship is further reflected in his active service to the Allentown community through tangible outreach initiatives, including the organization of Vacation Bible schools, feeding programs, and intensive prayer meetings.
A devoted father to Makailah and Anthony Jr., Pastor Upton strives to bridge the gap between faith and action, ensuring that his ministry provides both spiritual guidance and practical support. Through his leadership in the church and his focus on educational development, his mission remains centered on facilitating lasting transformation and building a legacy of faith, integrity, and biblical stewardship.
Bishop Tyrone A Samuel
Bishop Tyrone A. Samuel is the youngest of three children born to the late Mr. Herbert E. Samuel, Sr., and Mrs. Eva A. Samuel, in Detroit, Michigan. He was educated in the Detroit Public School system and later attended the University of Detroit and Henry Ford Community College both in Detroit, Michigan, with a focus in accounting.
As a child and teenager, Bishop Samuel attended the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of the late Reverend and late Mrs. J. A. Abraham, and the late Reverend and the late Mrs. C. E. Owens. It was there that he first surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal Saviour. He held various positions as Sunday School Teacher, Usher Board and Youth Department Presidents, Celestial Choraleers Director, and Junior Trustee.
It was after joining the Northeast Detroit Community Choir in November of 1975, under the direction of the late Brother Arthur Mason, Sr. and Reverend Roderic A. Edwards, Sr. that these great men of God introduced Bishop Samuel to holiness and the baptism in Jesus’ Name according to Acts 2:38.
On Sunday, February 7, 1976, Bishop Samuel confessed that he was blessed with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues on Monday, February 8, 1976. From that experience, Bishop Samuel followed the leading of the Lord to attend the charter meeting of Power-House Temple on March 4, 1976, and thus became a founding member of this awesome move of God, under the leadership of Elder Roderic A. and Elder Reginald J. Edwards. Moreover, under their pastorage, Elder Samuel was ordained as a Minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ on September 22, 1979.
Through a word of enlightenment from the late Evangelist Dorothy M. Shackelford, which was later confirmed by Bishop Robert C. Jiggetts, Jr., Bishop Samuel relocated to the Newark, New Jersey area. While this was not the move he was considering for his life, Bishop Samuel consulted with his pastors Elder and Evangelist Edwards for their blessing and approval. After receiving their consent, he followed the leading of the Lord and moved to Orange, New Jersey in November of 1988, and united with Greater Liberty Temple Universal Church of Christ, Incorporated where the pastor is the Bishop and Prelate, Bishop Robert Clinton Jiggetts, Jr.
After proving to be a faithful servant of the Lord, Bishop Samuel was appointed the National Coordinator of the Universal Church of Christ, Incorporated. He attended the Universal Bible Institute and graduated from the Ministerial Training program in June 1992 and serves as a Bible Institute instructor for the institute. On September 6, 1992, he was elevated to the office of Elder in the Holy Convocation of the Universal Church of Christ, Incorporated.
With God’s direction, he has accepted the call on his ministry to expand the influence of the Kingdom of God and increase what he is doing for the Kingdom by moving to the Allentown, Pennsylvania area where Restoration Tabernacle was birthed. Pastor Samuel can honestly say, “The Lord Has Done It Again!”
He shares his love for ministry with his wife for life and his greatest supporter of more than 42 years, the former Evangelist Tonya A. James. The Lord has blessed Bishop and Pastor Samuel with one daughter Tiffany Antoinette and a host of spiritual Children.
By divine guidance and the will of Almighty God, Bishop Robert Clinton Jiggetts, Jr., and the Official Board of the Universal Church of Christ, Incorporated, Elevated and Consecrated Elder Tyrone A. Samuel to the office Overseer in the Lord’s Church; in the 2013 Holy Convocation. Moving forward in JESUS, and working to advance the Kingdom, Bishop Samuel, elevated to being a prince in the
Kingdom of God, on Saturday, September 4, 2021. The Lord Has Done It, again! To GOD Be All the GLORY for the Great Things HE has Done!
